Peggy McCay (born November 3, 1927– died October 7, 2018),[1]) played the part of Lousie Kerr, a woman who was brought into court for allegedly shooting a pistol at her husband Phil, after she caught him in bed with a hooker in the Night Court series pilot, "All You Need Is Love".

Career[]

A long-time veteran actress with a career lasting over 55 years in film and television, Peggy, qho was born and raised in New York City, has acted in numerous productions, as she is best known for playing the roles of Vanessa Dale on the CBS soap opera Love of Life (a role she played from 1951–55), and Caroline Brady, a role she originated in February 1983 on the long-running NBC daytime soap opera series Days of our Lives.

She also played the part of Sharon DeSpain in an episode of The Andy Griffith Show titled "Class Reunion" in the serie's third season.

She may be best known for her role as matriarch Caroline Brady on Days of Our Lives. McCay first appeared on the program in February 1983. After signing a long-term contract in 1985, she played the character of Caroline on a regular basis for over thirty years. Her final appearance in the role was aired August 24, 2016.

McCay died on October 7, 2018 from natural causes at her home in the Los Angeles area.[2][3][4] She never married or had children, and left no immediate survivors.[5]
