Howard Ostroff (born November 25, 1934-died August 25, 1990) wrote four episodes of Night Court beginning with the Season 1 episode "Wonder Drugs"; he also wrote the episodes "The Gypsy" in Season 2, "Best of Friends" in Season 3, and "The Modest Proposal" in Season 4. Howard wrote scripts for several popular TV series, which included Night Court, The Lucy Show, I Dream of Jeannie, The Brady Bunch, House Calls, and Valerie. Howard also wrote the screenplay for the films Black Starlet (1974) and The Wackiest Wagon Train in the West (1976).
