Synopsis

Dan, Harry, and Bull all compete for the same pretty attorney.

  • Note: The end credits have a different background for this episode. Instead of the court, they show Harry and his little homemade Mel Torme concert.

Plot Summary

Bull and Dan have affection for the same woman, Suzanne (Caroline McWilliams; Benson), an attorney temporarily working nights at Night Court. Suzanne doesn't like this notion that she's a piece of property to be fought over, not interested in a long-term relationship with either of them, evident when she offers an extra ticket to a Mel Torme concert to Harry, an event (sold out) he so desperately wants to attend. The plot allows Dan to run off one zinger at Bull's expense after another (at one point he wonders to Suzanne, the woman in question, why she's would be interested in "Bobo, the California Red Oak"!), questioning what Suzanne would find so interesting about the "big lug".

Seeing a triangle for McWilliams offers lots of heated exchanges, although she's not a supermodel or anything, but watching Bull and Dan at each other's throats offers plenty of funny moments, particularly seeing Harry wrestling with the guilt that he's also part of this, kind of a silent party yet announced. How Harry gingerly walks around this for a duration of the episode is also rather amusing. An incident in the cafeteria just concludes the feud rather nicely, even if Harry makes an unnecessary sacrifice concerning how he doesn't want to come between his friendship for Bull and Dan.
